Purpose Driven Church

We started a new series what I’m calling, “Purpose Driven Church” in our Wednesday night adult Bible study. I have also been sharing vision with our church about reaching 20 people for Jesus in 2015. One person came to me and said, “Pastor! That’s not enough! I believe we can reach 30 people to Jesus!” To that I say, “Amen”!

So, I’d like to take a moment and share with you how you can be part of the process of reaching people to Jesus here in Round Rock and Greater Austin. And the how can begin as early as right now!

  1. Be a Witness. Jesus said the disciples in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The quick meaning is to simply let Jesus live in you and let others see Jesus living in you.

  2. Pray! Acts 1:14a says, “These all continued with one accord in prayer”. The original language says it this way, “These all continued continuing to pray”. No, that’s not a typo! They continued continuing to pray!

Let me tell you very quickly what you can pray for.

  • Pray for God’s Holy Spirit to come down upon listening ears. Acts 10:44

  • Ask God to allow someone to see Jesus in your life. Pray for other church members to be a great witness in their homes, schools, workplace.

  • Pray while at church. Pray while I am preaching. Pray for God to come down and move in lives in response to the gospel.

  • Pray while Sunday School teachers are teaching their lessons.

  • In all things pray God will save and change lives!

What will make FMBC great this year? Two things: For the membership of FMBC to be a great witnesses and to continue continuing to pray for God to come down up listening ears!

Father, I pray this year will be a great year of harvest for your Kingdom. Use FMBC to be a beacon of the hope that is in Jesus to Round Rock and Greater Austin. Let your people be a great witness and prayer warriors in Jesus name. Amen.
